Samsung has expanded its Ace series of budget smartphones, with the announcement of Galaxy Ace Style, that runs Android 4.4 KitKat, the latest iteration of Android. The new smartphone will be available globally in Cream White and Dark Gray colours, beginning in April.

Samsung Galaxy Ace Style sports a 4-inch WVGA (480x800p) TFT display. It is powered by a 1.2GHz dual core processor (Samsung has not revealed the name of the chipmaker) and 512MB RAM, and comes with 4GB internal storage expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. Samsung has integrated its TouchWiz Essence UI skin over Android 4.4.

The phone sports a 5MP rear camera with auto-focus and LED flash, and a VGA front-facing camera. It has a 1500mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, Galaxy Ace Style offers Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and NFC.

The India pricing of the phone has not been announced but we expect the phone to compete with the recently launched HTC Desire 310 smartphone which was

LG’s latest smartphone has been announced, the Optimus G. It will be the first LTE phone to run a quad-core CPU, the Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 with an Adreno 320 GPU. This will be one fast phone, even though it will start out only running Android 4.0 ICS instead of Jelly Bean (an OTA update will be forthcoming).

The amazing hardware specs continue:

2GB RAM
13MP rear camera, 1.3MP front facing camera
2100mAh battery
8mm thick
4G LTE wireless
Bluetooth 4.0
NFC
Wireless N
External display screen mirroring
The phone looks pretty amazing and will be available in Korea next month. It’s also promised to be available worldwide sometime later this year. It will be interesting to see how it compares to the Galaxy S III and iPhone 5 in speed tests.
